All the Things!!!!

So someone (I totally made up for the purposes of this post) asked me what I was doing lately because I seem different these days. I realized that things have turned around for me lately and I've worked quite hard in many areas of my personal and professional life to learn more and improve.

But if all the self-improvement emails in my inbox are any indication there is just ONE thing that you need to do to take your life to the NEXT LEVEL! Want to be fitter, faster, leaner, happier, sexier, less flatulent, more desirable, confident, persuasive, French, invisible WHATEVER, just follow the link.

And I always click on the link, because I am flawed and human and they have cute pictures of cats playing banjos or something...regardless, it leads me to some dubious marketing page with an auto-start video guaranteeing that if I watch all the way to the end my life will change.

I'm a sucker for marketing so I tell myself:
"Ok, I can make it to the end of this 'short presentation' to learn the ancient Aztec secret of moist cookies or whatever..."

Then I look at the video bar and realize its forty-five fucking minutes long and all they have done is asked the question I want answered and then proceeded to tell me any-fucking-thing except the answer to that very question.

I have a different approach. You want me to change one thing. I will change ALL THE THINGS!!!!

I realize that the reason my life hasn't changed drastically is simply because I can't sit through the whole video and find out what that one fucking thing is, but I also became aware that by making small, consistent changes in many areas of my life I'm seeing big changes too (and I don't have to sit through a "short presentation").

I've made meditation a part of my morning alarm routine, I try and take some time for reflection, I write more (not for this blog, clearly), I play more, I take time for myself, I constantly work on keeping my inner voice in check (that guy's kind of a dick), I look for gratitude, and I spend time with people that make my life better. All these small habits I am starting to create and fit into my life are shaping a new life that is drastically different than before I started.

I always wanted to find the one thing that would make my life better and I'm learning that it is all the little things that are making the difference.

So just follow the link below and I'll show the ONE thing you need to make Aztec Cookies!

Kidding...also sorry because now you probably want cookies...we all do.
